The answer is no. But I did. Had my laundry done and despite checking “all” the pockets, somehow, my passport was still in my pants. Fortunately, only Paraguay uses runny ink; everything else is quite legible although the passport itself is a little wrinkly. I went to the Canadian Embassy in Montevideo and asked them if it was okay. What a disappointing experience that was. None of the guards spoke English, they take a 3 hour lunch and the staff at the embassy were just as clueless as me as to whether my freshly washed passport would be a problem. Those are your tax dollars at work!
This was another recovery day. I felt just fine, but I thought it would be a good day to rest anyway since I wanted to be as healthy as possible for Patagonia. Hopefully, the passport is dry by morning and I can press it a bit; although, I’ll avoid the iron since it might melt something.
