10 Hour Bus Ride along the Parana River

Random thoughts during the 10 hour bus ride between Iguazu and Resistencia.

Coming into posadas was quite nice with the Parana River to the right and a nice view of the city. There is a really long bridge across the river which leads to a smaller looking city. At Posados, we switched to another bus at the garage and this one had a red interior and was much cooler. Almost left my book on the other bus but realized before we left the station. The bus attendant ran after the other bus and retrieved it for me!

Nice scenery along the entire ride, but not too many views of the river.

The landscape reminds me of a nice Alberta… loads of ranches, but also pretty forests, a wider variety of tree species and cows. Some of the towns along the way looked very developed and others looked like third world countries.

Finally made it to Corrientes/Resistencia. the bridge between these twin cities is quite long (2800 metres) and spans the Parana River which is the second longest river in South America.
